“With that much view, the landscape is on equal footing with the art,” says Mark Cravotta, founder and principal of Cravotta Interiors, of his recently completed Hill Country project. “So we kept the palette restrained and let real materials do quiet work: white oak, charred cedar, Lueders limestone, woven leather. Nothing that fights the windows.”
“The architecture framed the views and the flow to the terraces. Our biggest interior move was the dining program,” says Cravotta. “Once you commit to the house opening up like that, the outdoor rooms have to be furnished with the same quality as the inside, and every material has to work on both sides of the glass.”
